Colchester Zoo, based in the heart of North Essex, is set in extensive park land with four adventure play zones, a covered soft play area, more than 50 animal displays daily, 2 road trains and more than 260 species on display. Having won the prestigious 'Large Visitor Attraction of the Year' Award as well as the East of England "Sustainable Tourism Award" the zoo has become one of the best throughout Europe, noted for its welfare programme and environmental responsibility.
Essex Focus and Colchester Zoo have teamed up to offer two lucky families the chance to win a full, 1 day family ticket for a visit to the zoo.

There is so much to see and do at Colchester Zoo. There are 4 African elephants, opposite the first baby white rhino born in Britain via artificial insemination, Zamba, whom you can visit in the Kingdom of the Wild, where he plays with the giraffes, zebras, greater kudu and ostriches; see the sea lions at Playa Patagonia, and see the penguins swimming at Penguin Shores. There are komodo dragons, Amur tigers, orang-utans, leopards, exotic birds and more, all in entertaining and educational environments, waiting for your visit! Colchester Zoo receives no external funding and every visit you make helps to fund the zoo’s further development as well as assisting projects in the wild. The zoo has also won the coveted 'Large Visitor Attraction of the Year' Award and the 'Sustainable Tourism Award' for its efforts in recycling and green practices from the East of England Tourist Board.
